In December I had the pleasure of visiting Washington D.C. and seeing a lot of the monuments. I hadn’t seen them since I was a young child and I have been wanting to go for so long. My grandpa would take me to visit different monuments at various points in my childhood, and I always recall learning so much from him about history and the different presidents. I finally took the drive and went myself and had such a great time. It was really cold and windy but a really sunny beautiful day. I got to walk around and take in the beauty of the National Mall, and walk the steps I took as a child once again.

Do you mind me asking where you stayed while there? I am thinking about planning a girls trip to DC for my Birthday. I know the central area can be really expensive. I travel to the DMV area often, however, I’m usually staying with family and wanted to do something a little different this time. Thanks

usually I stay with family also, but this time I got a hotel in the College Park area. It wasn’t super fancy, but it was probably one of the best hotels I have stayed in for that price. I’d check the Hotel.com app for anything near College Park since there is a metro stop there, but also an uber to downtown split between you and your friends wouldn’t be bad also. Hope this helps! Hope you can have fun on your birthday!! xo
